Help identify a map or content error
A specific report makes it easier to distinguish a source-data issue, a scope difference and a software bug. Include the evidence needed to reproduce the problem.

What to include
- The page address and the country, region, article statement or download involved.
- What you expected and what the site currently shows.
- A primary source supporting the correction, including its definition and date.
- For an interaction bug, the browser, device and steps that reproduce it.
Map settings are kept in the current browser session and are not added to the page address. If a problem depends on a projection, center, zoom or selected place, describe those settings in your report. The Share page action copies the page address, not an exact snapshot of the current map state.
Area and boundary reports
Two area figures can disagree because they count different things. Please check whether islands, overseas regions and inland water are included in both definitions. The area guide and methodology explain the model used here.
A simplified world map cannot reproduce every coastline detail. Nevertheless, an omitted mapped island, misplaced capital or inconsistent selection can be a real issue. Identify the location as precisely as possible and explain the source of the expected result.
How changes are recorded
The editorial policy calls for substantive corrections to state what changed and why. A dataset or scope revision should update the affected figures and maps together. We do not promise a response time or imply that an unreviewed report has already been accepted.
